Translation

General
	making proteins
	occurs in ribosomes
Steps:
	1.	mRNA bonds to the ribosome at the initiator codon.
	2.	rRNA reads the first codon and releases an enzyme that turns on a tRNA
	3.	tRNA bonds to an amino acid and brings it to the ribosome
	4.	tRNA's anticodon bonds to mRNA's codon
	5.	rRNA shifts so that a new codon can be read and a new amino acid brought
	6.	the process continues until a stop codon is reached and a water molecule brought and added to the polypeptide chain
	7.	mRNA, tRNA, and ribosome break up to be used again later
Miscellaneous
polysomes-many ribosomes reading the same mRNA strand
polypeptide chain often enters the ER and then the Golgi complex to be put together to form a functional protein.
